Besides being so miraculously renewable, bamboo is a naturally pest-resistant plant that can grow in poor soil and needs much less water. Therefore, the growing process itself is also natural and chemical-free. Bamboo also plays an important role when it comes to protecting the soil and land around it; those long strong roots keep the soil together to prevent erosion. And because it is harvested, usually by hand, the roots remain in the ground to grow again which causes little to no damage to the soil and ecosystem.
